In recent years a popular autumn travel activity in Taiwan has been to go see bald cypress trees. In November, the lacy needles of these shapely deciduous conifers begin to turn from green to russet red. The setting amid mountains and water only adds to the appeal of this stand of bald cypresses in Nanzhuang, Miaoli County.
